DO NOT HAVE A D1 OR BUST MENTALITY. THERE ARE LOTS OF SCHOOLS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AT ALL DIFFERENT LEVELS FOR YOUR PLAYING ABILITY AND ACADEMIC INTEREST. COLLEGE SOFTBALL IS AN AVENUE FOR EDUCATION AND THE CHANCE TO PLAY 4 MORE YEARS OF THE SPORT YOU LOVE.

1) Education/Academics

NAIA- scholarships vary based on tuition and endowments 

JCs vary depending on school. CA JCs do currently

2) Finances- talk to parents, what is really needed. FAFSA for qualification. Do you have a college fund set up? Willing to take out loans? Use the FAFSA estimator. All these an help you when looking at cost of colleges.

 

3) Athletics-what kind of player are you? Ability. Coaches personality. Does the program have a lot of turn over? Where are the current players from? Does the coach have a pattern of types of players? Do you prefer a male coach or female coach?  

4) Distance 0-2 hours-go home for dinner , 4-8 hour-long weekend, airplaine ride- long vacations, xmas, summer. 

5) Personal Life. Anything health wise that requires you to be close to home. Personality-anxiety, need to be close to home and people you know
